Shoppers Are Raving Over M&S’ New S’mores Cookie Cup

Marks & Spencer has added a new flavour to its cult Cookie Cup range, and this one comes with a twist you actually have to put in the oven. The S’mores Cookie Cup is the first in the lineup designed to be baked at home rather than eaten straight from the packet, and shoppers are already calling it “banging” and “delightful” online.

What’s in the new S’mores Cookie Cup?

The dessert is built around a milk chocolate chip cookie cup, filled with a mix of dark and milk chocolate ganache. On top sits a combination of chunky milk chocolate pieces, soft marshmallows and fudgy brownie, all designed to melt together once it’s been in the oven for around 12 minutes.

It’s priced from £3 and is available in M&S Foodhalls across the country. Because it needs baking, it looks and behaves differently to the rest of the range, with the marshmallow and chocolate melting into the centre as it cooks rather than sitting cold and set the way the other flavours do.

Once it comes out of the oven, you’re in for a delectable treat.

Once baked, the cookie shell softens right through while still keeping a bit of bite around the edges, something you don’t get with the cold versions. The ganache inside turns rich and smooth, with the chocolate pieces melting almost the moment you cut into it, and the brownie layer adds a fudgy texture that makes the whole thing feel more like a pudding than a snack.

The marshmallow is the one part that seems to divide opinion. It’s a nice addition in theory, but next to all that melted chocolate it can end up a bit lost, and a more generous helping would probably bring out more of that classic toasted s’mores flavour. Even so, the bake at home twist is being seen as a step up from the rest of the range. It takes a bit longer than simply opening a tub, but the warm, gooey centre makes the wait worth it for anyone who takes their chocolate seriously.

The Cookie Cup range has grown considerably since launch.

The original Cookie Cup range launched back in June 2025 with three flavours: Raspberry & White Chocolate, Extremely Chocolatey, and Hazelnut Praline. All three built a loyal following fast, with shoppers regularly calling the desserts “filthy” in the best possible way.

Since then, M&S has rolled out a string of limited edition versions to keep fans coming back, including a Big Daddy flavour, a Gingerbread & White Chocolate option around Christmas, and more recently a Birthday Cake edition. The S’mores version stands out as the first in the range built to be heated rather than eaten cold, marking a noticeable change in how the dessert works compared to everything that came before it.

M&S has had a busy summer for chocolate launches.

The S’mores Cookie Cup lands alongside a handful of other new products from the retailer this summer. M&S recently released a Collection Single Origin Dark Chocolate with Mint bar, which split opinion among shoppers who couldn’t quite agree on the mint chocolate combination. It also brought out a mini version of its popular Blond Chocolate and Pistachio bar, priced at just £1.40, for anyone who wants a smaller taste of the fan favourite without committing to a full-sized bar.

On top of that, the supermarket revived its 80s St Michael chocolate range last month, bringing back the retro branding to fans who remembered it from decades ago and calling the comeback “delicious madness”. Between the nostalgia relaunches and the constant stream of new Cookie Cup flavours, the Foodhall has become something of a regular stop for anyone keeping an eye on new chocolate releases.

The Foodhall treats aren’t just for humans anymore, either.

M&S also used the summer to branch out beyond people food, launching Paws & Pals, a new premium range of dog and cat food now available in Foodhalls nationwide. It’s a bit of a departure from the usual chocolate and bakery focus, but shows the retailer is keen to expand its food offering in every direction it can, treats included, whoever they’re for.

With another flavour already added to the Cookie Cup lineup and no sign of the pace slowing down, it’s likely only a matter of time before the next limited edition version shows up on shelves.
