Lindt’s New Chocolate Flavour Is Inspired by a Classic Bakery Treat

Lindt has built a reputation for experimenting with playful new flavours on its classic Lindor truffles, and its latest addition is inspired by a much loved bakery favourite. Fans have spotted a brand new Cinnamon Roll flavour appearing on shelves, and reaction so far has been overwhelmingly positive.

Lindor truffles were first created back in 1949, though they didn’t originally look anything like the smooth, melt-in-the-mouth spheres we know today. Early versions were actually sold as hard, tablet shaped chocolate instead.

Originating in Switzerland, Lindor truffles are now sold in more than 100 countries worldwide and have become closely tied to Christmas for a lot of chocolate lovers, making regular appearances in festive gift sets and stockings every year.

Lindt’s new cinnamon roll flavour is guaranteed to be a big hit with fans of the chocolate brand.

The new seasonal flavour features crunchy biscuit pieces set inside a smooth milk chocolate shell, with a milk chocolate filling flavoured using natural cinnamon. It’s a fitting choice for the time of year, given how often cinnamon shows up in popular autumn and winter favourites like spiced lattes and mulled wine.

Anyone hoping to grab a bag from their local supermarket will be disappointed though, since the Cinnamon Roll flavour is only available through Lindt’s own Pick & Mix bar, either in-store or online, priced from £4.99 per 100g. It’s also a limited edition release, meaning it’ll only be around while stocks last.

Shoppers have already been sharing their reactions online.

Word of the new flavour has already spread across social media, with shoppers spotting it in stores including Manchester’s Arndale Centre. Several people have praised the taste, with one describing it as “excellent,” while another joked they now know exactly what they want for their birthday.

A gluten-free food reviewer on TikTok said the flavour immediately caught her attention while browsing one of Lindt’s UK stores. After some digging with staff, since the product was new enough that even they needed to check, it was confirmed the flavour is free from both wheat and barley, something she described as amazing given how rarely she’s able to enjoy Lindt’s milk chocolate normally, due to barley typically being present in it.

What the new flavour is actually like to eat.

According to her review, the filling delivers a creamy cinnamon roll icing flavour, complemented by small pieces of hazelnut that add a satisfying bit of crunch throughout.

This isn’t Lindt’s first attempt at a cinnamon flavour either. Back in 2024, the brand released a Cinnamon Swirl variety in similar light blue packaging, also sold as a limited edition. Lindt has confirmed to Metro that this latest Cinnamon Roll flavour is a completely new addition though, rather than simply a rebrand of the earlier release.

Where you can buy Lindt’s Cinnamon Roll Lindor

The Cinnamon Roll Lindor is available across Lindt’s UK store network, which spans more than two dozen locations nationwide, including its flagship Piccadilly store, along with locations in cities and retail parks across England, Scotland, and Wales.

Given its limited edition status, anyone keen to try it is likely best off checking their nearest store sooner rather than later, or ordering directly through Lindt’s website while stock remains available.

Nostalgic chocolate launches are having a moment more broadly.

Lindt isn’t the only brand leaning into nostalgic or novel chocolate releases recently. Asda has just relaunched its own-brand Puffin bars, a chocolate coated biscuit snack that first hit shelves three decades ago, individually wrapped and priced at just £1 for a pack of eight.

M&S has followed a similar path too, bringing back four retro chocolate bars originally sold as part of its 1980s confectionery range. Priced at just £1 each, the bars carry the old St Michael branding, a label M&S used between 1927 and 2000, offering a wave of nostalgia for anyone who remembers snacking on them the first time around.
