With August drawing to a close and the first hints of chilly morning air starting to creep in, high street coffee shops are wasting zero time getting their autumn offerings ready. While Starbucks famously leans heavily into the pumpkin spice craze, Costa Coffee is sticking to its guns with its own signature autumn flavour profile, bringing back the wildly popular Maple Hazel range alongside a fresh matcha twist and some serious comfort food.
The full seasonal menu arrives in Costa branches nationwide from Thursday 27 August, joining rival chains on the British high street in jumping straight into autumn mode before the summer holidays have even fully wrapped up. If you’re keen to switch your daily caffeine order for something warmer and sweeter, here’s everything you can expect to find on the counters over the coming weeks.
The Maple Hazel range returns, plus one brand new addition.
Costa’s Maple Hazel syrup has built up a massive following over the past few years, and fans of the nutty, sweet blend will be relieved to see it taking centre stage once again. The range covers all the traditional bases for both warm and cold days: you’ve got the classic hot Maple Hazel Latte, the Maple Hazel Iced Latte for milder afternoons, a rich Maple Hazel Hot Chocolate topped with cream, and a blended Maple Hazel Frappe.

Brand new for 2026 is the Maple Hazel Iced Matcha. Matcha has exploded across British cafes over the last 12 months, and Costa is capitalising on the trend by pairing the earthy, grassy notes of Japanese green tea with the toasted, sugary punch of their signature seasonal syrup. It gives anyone looking for a change from espresso a completely fresh way to get their autumn fix.
To go with the drinks, Costa is introducing two substantial new toasted sandwiches aimed squarely at the lunchtime crowd. The first is the Philly Cheesesteak Toastie, which packs slow-cooked pulled beef brisket, sweet roasted peppers, mature cheddar, and tangy regato cheese inside a crisp Tuscan-style flatbread. Sitting alongside it is the Four Cheese Toastie, an indulgent stack combining Red Leicester, creamy mozzarella, mature cheddar, and nutty emmental, rounded off with a smear of American-style mustard and toasted inside a cheesy bloomer bread.

There are plenty of returning treats for those with a sweet tooth.
If you’re popping in for an afternoon snack, the glass display cases are getting a real seasonal overhaul with several rich cakes, seasonal loaves, and Halloween-themed treats. The Dubai Style Pistachio Tiffin taps straight into the viral chocolate trend that’s been all over social media, delivering a crunchy, nutty bite packed with shredded pastry and pistachio cream. For traditional chocolate lovers, there’s also a rich Chocolate & Salted Caramel Cake that goes brilliantly with a simple Americano.
For anyone who prefers warming spices and classic autumn bakes, the bakery counter will stock a Sticky Pecan Mini Loaf, a dense and punchy Gingernut Loaf Cake, and a playful Iced Ghost Gingerbread Biscuit that’s bound to keep the kids happy on the walk home from school.
What Costa has said about the new lineup
Costa Coffee’s global food and beverage director said autumn is a season many people associate with returning to familiar rituals that bring a sense of comfort to their day. According to her, the Maple Hazel range has become a seasonal tradition for a lot of customers over the years, making its return, alongside the brand new Maple Hazel Iced Matcha Latte, something the team is particularly excited about.
She added that whether customers are revisiting an old favourite, trying one of the new toasties, or simply taking a moment to themselves, the autumn menu has been designed with something for everyone looking to make the most of those small everyday autumn moments.
With the full lineup landing in branches from 27 August, it won’t be long before coffee lovers can get their hands on the returning favourites and this year’s new additions.
