Of course, a job isn’t your identity. It’s one expression of your talents, not the definition of your worth. As unsettling as job loss can be, it can also be an opportunity to reframe, regroup, and reconnect with parts of yourself that go beyond your professional role. Here’s how to deal with this tough transition while holding onto who you are.

1. Let yourself feel it before rushing to fix it.
